Brash Vineyard 2014 Sauvignon Blanc released and awarded Gold medal at Qantas Mt Barker Wine Show.

30 July 2014

Brash Vineyard 2013 Sauvignon Blanc has been awarded 96 points by James Halliday.

The trophy won by this wine at Sydney Wine Show '13 was the outcome of highly skilled contract winemaking, and a vineyard planted in '00. The palate is particularly intense and complex, new French oak providing the spine for the predominantly citrus flavours to wrap themselves around, leading to the long finish and aftertaste, where slippery acidity provides a prolonged aftertaste. 96 points - 5 glasses - 4 star winery. Outstanding. Wines of the highest quality, often with a distinguished pedigree.

13 February 2014

Brash Vineyard was presented a Gold Medal and Trophy by the Sydney RASNSW for best Sauvignon Blanc at the 2014 Macquarie Group Sydney Royal Wine Show Awards.

The Sauvignon Blanc - made by winemaker Bruce Dukes of Naturaliste Vintners - was awarded 96 points by the judging panel and complimented for the 'very clever use of oak'. This wine is estate grown, and the first wine entered into a show by Brash Vineyard.

WA recognition has also been acknowledged by well-known wine writer John Jens when he recently announced this wine topped a masked line-up of 22. John states "the wine initially stood out for it's refined bouquet's lightly pungent gooseberry aromatics. These are usually a clue in a masked line up for cool-area high-quality sauvignon blanc grapes from either the Karridale region at the very southern end of Margaret River or from New Zealand. … Some oak characters are present but these are neither assertive nor aggressive and they merely add complexity, seriousness and satisfaction".
